THINGS TO DO
Situated next to Pawnee Lake SRA and just a quick drive to Downtown Lincoln, this is the perfect spot to be secluded but still 'close enough'. We've put together a couple lists that we thought might be helpful during your stay. If you don't see what you are looking for, just reach out. We are more than happy to help point you in the right direction.
OUTDOOR RECREATION
Our house sits on an acreage right next to Pawnee Lake SRA and butts up to the bottom side of the Pawnee dam.
Water
There are 740 Acres of water on the lake for your enjoyment. All types of boats are welcome at Pawnee SRA. The lake offers three boat ramps and two docks.
Backyard
We have set our back yard area up to be great for entertaining large groups. A covered patio, grilling area, covered binzebo, astro-turf, outdoor lighting and firepit. Yard games, grill outs, parties - we have you covered.
Swimming
Pawnee Lake SRA has two larger swimming beaches and one smaller one. No lifeguards on duty.
Canoe or Kayak
A canoe and fishing kayak are included with your rental. Best times are sunrise & sunset.
Public Land
There are 2544 Acres of public land at Pawnee Lake State Recreation Area. Our property butts up to public land so you have plenty of room to stretch out and play.
Trails
There is a 7.3 mile loop trail that goes around the lake with several other shorter trails as well. It is a mowed grass trail and it is designed for hiking or horseback riding.
Fishing
White Bass, walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill and two kinds of catfish among others, can all be found in Pawnee Lake.
Hunting
There are a lot of hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, waterfowl & small game on the public land surrounding the lake.
Shooting Range
Just a few hundred yards north of the end of our driveway is a trap/skeet range. Bring your own clays and guns. This range is unmanned and free for the public to use with a valid state park pass.
Archery
There is a free archery range at NW side of the lake also.
Relax
In peace. Enjoy the quiet. Sometimes that is the best way to spend the day.

PEOPLE ARE SO NICE
"We loved staying at the Pawnee Lake House. It offers comfort and seclusion while only a short distance to big-city amenities. Our hosts were amazing - very friendly and welcoming and responsive to our needs. An added plus was the proximity to Pawnee Lake. Perfect for boating and fishing. The house is charming and is made more so by the original photo artwork throughout. Highly recommended."
